Hull City will have money to spend in January

Hull City will have money to spend in the January transfer window, according to their manager Grant McCann.

The Tigers are on the fringes of the Play-Offs in the Championship after a solid start to the season under their new boss.

Hull are also looking to hold on to key players such as Jarrod Bowen and Kamil Grosicki this winter.

McCann has said, as per a report by Hull Live: “I think there will be (money to spend). Ehab (Allam) has been really clear in the meetings that there will be.”

“We’d prefer our own players and 100 per cent he’ll back us on that. I don’t think it needs an overhaul. We’re really pleased with the group but there’s one or two areas where we feel we might be a little bit light. I don’t think it needs a lot. I’ve never been about money as a manager. I’d rather make sure we concentrate on what we’ve got and try to add to it with people who are hungry, determined and have a point to prove at this level. That’s what I’m about as a manager.”

He added: “It doesn’t matter what league they come from if they’re good enough. In terms of our recruitment we’ve been savvy and clear with what we want. We want characters with a point to prove, maybe those who have been written off at this level.”

There may also be departures from the KCOM Stadium in January, with David Milinkovic and Markus Henriksen eyeing moves away.
