Stoke City facing battle to keep star midfielder

Stoke City are facing a battle to keep star midfielder Badou Ndiaye following reports of interest from Galatasaray according to Turkish media outlet Fotomac.

The Potters are in a dire straits in the Championship with the managerless Staffordshire side currently six points from safety and bottom of the league. Last night’s 2-0 defeat to leaders West Bromwich Albion did nothing to ease the situation they currently find themselves in.

However, Ndiaye has been in form for Stoke despite their perilous position and has been one of their best performers and Super Lig champions Galatasaray are believed to want to bring Ndiaye back to the club.

The 29-year-old joined Stoke from Galatasaray back in 2018 and spent last season on loan with the side as they won the league.

The Turkish giants are now eyeing up another swoop for the midfielder on a temporary basis and have sounded out a potential transfer in January.

Ndiaye has featured in nine games for Stoke this season and has probably been one of the better performers in what has been a miserable campaign so far.

Ndiaye will be one of the higher wage earners at the club and with Stoke looking more likely to get relegated than find themselves pushing higher up the table they may need to reassess their financial situation this season.

Despite him being a key member of the squad, he would have been hoping for more success with the Potters and the chance to move abroad and play in Europe could appeal to Ndiaye.
